Funding Waves

The SLD sends out Funding Commitment Decisions Letters to inform applicants of their approved E-rate discounts. These letters are mailed in waves, as decisions are made. As each wave is sent, the SLD will announce its size (both in funds committed and number of letters) on their Web Site in the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) on the day the wave is mailed.
The Automated Search of Commitments (ASC) allows users to search the Schools and Libraries database for commitment information. This search tool replaces the Adobe Acrobat PDF reports created after every wave and funding year. Now, you can narrow down your results by entering certain criteria such as a particular state, applicant, city and so forth.

Once you have entered your search criteria, a report is created showing year, state, applicant name, services requested, address, city, committed amount, discount percentages, wave funded (year 3 only). Rather than sift through many applicant records, you can target those that you want or get all of the data for an entire state. The information you enter into the search fields will be used to filter the records.
