Construction begins next week on I-94 near Jackson

END DATE: Early July 2009

PROJECT: Work to resurface 6.5 miles of I-94 between US-127/M-50 and Sargent Road, along with ramp improvements at West Avenue, Cooper Street and Elm Road, is expected to begin the last week of April. Starting Wednesday, April 29, crews will first begin concrete patch work on the ramps at Cooper Street and I-94. Work to resurface mainline I-94 is expected to start the first week of May.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: During construction, ramps at Cooper Street and Elm Road will be closed and all traffic detoured for approximately 3 days per ramp. Ramps at West Avenue (US-127/M-50) will be closed at night for resurfacing between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. with all traffic detoured.

Work to resurface I-94 will be done at night only with one lane of traffic maintained in each direction between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
