WHAT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $42 million during 2009 and 2010 for road and bridge construction work on 8 miles on I-675 in Saginaw County.

BACKGROUND: Work extends from Buena Vista Township at the highway's southern junction with I-75 north through the city of Saginaw, and Zilwaukee, Saginaw, and Kochville townships at the northern junction.
I-675 southbound construction begins this spring and is expected to be completed by winter 2009. Southbound lanes will be closed with traffic detoured to I-75. I-675 northbound traffic will remain on I-675 northbound lanes.
I-675 northbound construction begins next March and is expected to be completed by November 2010. Northbound lanes will be closed with traffic detoured to I-75. I-675 southbound traffic will remain on I-675 southbound lanes.
Interested residents are invited to stop by anytime during the open house- style meeting to view displays and learn more about this project. The purpose of these improvements is to increase traffic safety and improve the overall condition of this highway. Public input is sought to help MDOT recognize and address any concerns. MDOT staff members will be available to answer questions.
