MDOT invites public to US-131 project open house May 21 in Mancelona

BACKGROUND: MDOT will be reconstructing US-131 later this year from Elder Road to M-66 in Antrim County.

The work includes removing the existing pavement and widening for three lanes, sidewalk replacement, and safety and drainage improvements. The village of Mancelona has received a federal grant to provide decorative sidewalks, lighting, and landscaping, which will be incorporated into this project.

This open house will allow residents and business owners an opportunity to talk one-on-one with MDOT officials and the contractor regarding the project. MDOT will present a PowerPoint project overview that can be viewed throughout the open house for the public's convenience.
