ITS project continues in Ottawa County

STARTING DATE: Monday, Sept. 14, 2009

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Friday, Sept. 25, 2009

PROJECT: This Monday, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will install traffic cameras on US-31 to further enhance the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in the tri-cities area.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: The center lane of northbound US-31 will be closed from the Bascule Bridge to just north of 3rd Street in Ferrysburg starting 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, to noon Friday, Sept. 18, and again 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, to noon Friday, Sept. 25. One lane of northbound US-31 and the exit lane to M-104 will remain open to traffic at all times.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: ITS provide real-time traffic data for motorists and first responders, which will increase mobility and improve safety while offering vital emergency and detour information.
