Work to begin on M-50 (Louis Glick Highway) in the city of Jackson

END DATE: Early November 2009

PROJECT: Starting today, work begins on Louis Glick Highway in downtown Jackson. Consumers Energy will replace manholes and duct banks on the Louis Glick bridge west of Mechanic Street.

This week crews will be preparing for construction to start on Monday, Oct. 12. All work is anticipated to take five weeks to complete.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Today, two lanes of Louis Glick Highway, from Francis Street to just west of Mechanic, will be closed. On Tuesday, the north two lanes will close and on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday the two south lanes will be closed. All lanes will reopen by 4 p.m. each day.

On Monday, Oct., 12, the two south lanes of Louis Glick will be closed, followed by the two north lanes at a later date. Two lanes of traffic will be open throughout the project on Louis Glick.
