WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009
5 - 7 p.m.

WHERE: Baker College Welcome Center
South M-52

BACKGROUND: Work on M-52 involves roadway reconstruction, new curb and gutter, storm sewer and water main improvements, railroad crossing reconstruction, traffic signal upgrades, and sidewalk improvements. Once the project is complete, M-52 will be restriped from its current four-lane configuration to a three-lane roadway with a center-turn lane.

Work will begin first on the railroad reconstruction, which requires a full closure of M-52. Once this work is complete prior to the Memorial Day holiday, the roadway reconstruction portion will begin. This work will require one lane of northbound traffic on M-52 to be maintained through the work zone, with southbound traffic detoured.

All work is expected to be completed by November 2010.
