If a permit holder has an interim permit, a new commercial sign can be erected. The permit holder shall determine a new location and complete a sign permit application packet on-line. The application packet shall contain the following forms:
A $100 application fee is required for each application submitted. A permit agent will inspect the location to ensure that it meets all requirements of the Highway Advertising Act of 1972, as amended.
If the location meets all requirements of the Act. The permit agent will send a location approval to the applicant. The applicant has one year from the date of the approval to construct the sign. Once the sign is completed, the sign owner will notify the permit agent. The valid permit for the sign will then be issued.
There is no timeframe for determining a new location with an interim permit. An annual renewal notice shall be e-mailed to the permit holder for the interim permit. As long as the renewal fees are paid, the interim permit remains valid.
If you are unable to scan forms to attach to an application, they may be mailed to the appropriate Billboard Region Agent.
