Why does a traffic signal study take so long?
 
Answer:
A typical traffic signal study takes only a couple of weeks to produce a decision. However, MDOT is responsible for all traffic signals on Michigan's trunkline roadways (numbered M, US and I routes) and receives hundreds of requests for signal studies annually. Requests are handled in the order in which they are received.
