Project: The Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) contractor, in conjunction with the Jackson County Road Commission, will construct center left-turn lanes on all legs of the intersection at M-50 and Rives Junction Road in Jackson County. A new signal will be installed at the intersection, as well as additional alignment changes that will improve motorists' visibility west of Rives Junction Road.
Traffic
Restrictions: During construction, traffic on M-50 and Rives Junction Road will be detoured to help expedite the work. Two-way traffic will be maintained on a signed detour route along local roads.
Customer Benefit: This work is part of a larger project that includes completely reconstructing the M-50/US-127 interchange, adding a center left turn lane at M-50 and Hendee Road and placing a surface seal on M-50 from Hendee Road to Rives Junction Road. The intersection improvements will promote safety at M-50 and Rives Junction Road. It continues a commitment by MDOT and the Granholm administration to create jobs, improve quality of life, and provide the highest quality transportation services for Michigan residents and businesses.
Protect Michigan Families: Please slow down in work zones.
