Notifications will be sent when traffic impacts and delays are anticipated as a result of traffic incidents or construction activities. Examples may include traffic crashes, lane closures, detours, freeway closures, etc. The intent of these e-mails is to inform motorists of potential delays so they can make informed travel decisions. This will not only decrease the delay associated with the event, but will increase safety for motorists, construction workers, and emergency personnel by reducing the potential for secondary crashes due to congestion. The subject line of these e-mails will be clear and concise, allowing the recipient to quickly decide if the event applies to their travel. The body of the e-mail will contain additional information about the restriction.
