    Michigan's Publicly-owned Bridges

    map of Michigan's publicly owned bridgesThree major Michigan bridges--the Mackinac Bridge, the International Bridge and the Blue Water Bridge--are publicly owned and operated. The International Bridge and the Blue Water Bridge provide crossings into Canada.

    Two other border crossings--the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel--are privately owned and operated. More information about these can be found on their Web sites: www.dwtunnel.com and www.ambassadorbridge.com.

    Effective June 1, 2009, U.S. citizens returning to the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean or Bermuda, by land or sea, will be required to present an approved travel document to be admitted to the United States.
