Agency: Transportation

COUNTY: Huron

HIGHWAY: M-25

CLOSEST CITY: Village of Sebewaing

STARTING DATE: Monday, July 6, 2009

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Late July 2009

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will start work on two projects along 3.7 miles of M-25 near the village of Sebewaing. The first, a $322,000 resurfacing project, extends from Stein Road to Brown Park.

In conjunction with the resurfacing work, a second project, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), includes the construction of paved non-motorized shoulders. This $273,000 project extends along the same section of M-25.

Both projects are weather-dependent.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Single-lane and shoulder closures will be in effect for the duration of this project. Traffic will be maintained using flag control. Motorists can expect delays.

For up-to-date information on this project, go to the list of statewide lane closures at: www.michigan.gov/drive.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: These projects will provide a smoother ride for motorists and extend by several miles the construction of paved non-motorized shoulders along M-25 in the Thumb area. Pyramid Paving and Contracting Company of Essexville is the contractor on both projects.

MDOT: Working to improve our state roads and bridges.
