A flashing yellow arrow signal is placed over the left‑turn lane at an intersection. It provides a safer and more efficient left‑turn option for motorists and will replace the flashing red left‑turn signals commonly used throughout Michigan.
Remember: A flashing yellow arrow means turn with caution.
A national study showed that drivers made fewer mistakes with flashing yellow arrow signals compared to traditional left‑turn signals.
Flashing yellow arrows give motorists more opportunities to turn left turn, reduce delays, keep traffic moving and provide flexibility for traffic management.
