BACKGROUND: Starting this spring, construction will begin on US-127 BR in St. Johns. Improvements include pavement repairs and resurfacing, storm sewer and drainage improvements, curb and gutter replacement, water main work, and intersection and traffic signal upgrades. Also included will be the removal of the bridge over the abandoned Central Michigan Railroad. The bridge will be replaced with a concrete box culvert.
The project will be built in stages to reduce the inconvenience to motorists and residents. Portions of US-127 BR will be closed during construction with a detour posted. Local access will be maintained throughout the project.
