Aetna, Glazon creek culvert replacements to begin July 21

CLOSEST CITY: Copper Harbor

ESTIMATED STARTING DATE: Monday, July 21

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Saturday, Aug. 16

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be replacing the US-41 culvert over Aetna Creek and the M-26 culvert over Glazon Creek. The Glazon Creek culvert is scheduled to be replaced first, followed by the Aetna Creek culvert. Each replacement will take about two weeks.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Detours will be posted during construction. Traffic will use US-41 when the Glazon Creek culvert is replaced, and M-26 when the Aetna Creek culvert is replaced.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: This project will replace multiple metal culverts at each location with single concrete box culverts, which will improve drainage and extend the roadway life.
