I-69 median work begins Monday, July 21, in Genesee County

STARTING DATE: Monday, July 21, 2008

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Late August 2008

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will install a median cable barrier along 6 miles of I-69. Work extends from east of M-13 to west of Elms Road. The Clayton Township project will be completed by crews during daylight hours. There will be no construction work permitted during the night or on weekends.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Motorists can expect intermittent shoulder closures on east- and westbound I-69. Shoulder areas will remain open to traffic when no work is in progress.

Access to and from I-69 ramps will be maintained for the duration of this project. The removal of all traffic restrictions will be completed before the end of each work day. Intermittent lane closures, as required, will be allowed in only one direction at a time.
