Single lane closure on northbound US-127 near Trowbridge in East Lansing on Sunday, Oct. 12

Contact:  Kari Arend 517-750-0406
Agency: Transportation

COUNTY: Ingham

HIGHWAY: Northbound US-127 near the Trowbridge Road exit

CLOSEST CITY: East Lansing

DATE: Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008
7 a.m. to 1 p.m. (approximately)

PROJECT: This weekend, MDOT will change the current lane configuration on northbound US-127, just past Trowbridge Road, from four lanes to three. Once the change is complete, motorists will have a dedicated lane to northbound US-127, a dedicated lane to westbound I-496, and a third, middle lane, offering motorists the option to choose either westbound I-496 or northbound US-127.

MDOT is making the change in an effort to improve safety and mobility through the corridor. MDOT worked with Michigan State Police and the East Lansing Police Department in making the change.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: On Sunday, Oct. 12, there will be a single lane closure along northbound US-127 so crews can restripe the lanes and update the large, overhead sign near Trowbridge Road to reflect the changes.
