MDOT to update public on US-41 construction plans, schedules in city of Menominee for 2010-11

WHAT: Interested residents and business owners will receive an update from Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and city of Menominee staff on plans for construction in 2010-11 on US-41 in the city of Menominee. Representatives from MDOT and the city will be at the meeting to discuss the construction and detour plans and answer questions about the project.

BACKGROUND: MDOT will be reconstructing approximately 2 miles of US-41 in the city of Menominee, between 20th Avenue and 48th Avenue. This project also includes the installation of new storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and traffic signals.

Traffic in the area will be detoured in several stages throughout this project. This project will be constructed over two construction seasons, scheduled to start in April 2010 and be completed by November 2011.
