BACKGROUND: MDOT is proposing to remove and replace the US-131 bridge over the Manistee River in Wexford County. The work includes complete removal of the existing bridge and reconstruction of a new one. A detour will be necessary during the work.
This $3 million project is funded in part by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and a Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) earmark. Construction is scheduled to begin in early September.
This open house will allow residents and business owners an opportunity to talk one-on-one with MDOT officials about the project.
