BACKGROUND: MDOT will be reconstructing the interchange of I-94/I-696 near the Roseville/St. Clair Shores border. The work is scheduled to begin next summer and be completed in late 2010.
Included in this $30 million project is the rehabilitation of the bridges located within the interchange, freeway lighting upgrades and landscaping. During construction, one lane will be maintained on the existing two-lane freeway-to-freeway ramps, while lane closures will occur on I-696 and I-94 at various times throughout the project.
