Agency: Transportation

January 26, 2010 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will install new non-freeway emergency route signs along 47 miles of I-69 in Branch, Calhoun, and Eaton counties in Michigan, and Steuben County in Indiana.

Non-freeway emergency detour route signs allow for more efficient traffic routing during emergencies.

The $78,000 project starts Tuesday, Jan. 26, and is expected to be completed by June 25.

While there may be some shoulder closures during installation, construction is expected to have limited impacts on traffic.

For up-to-date information on this project, go to the list of statewide lane closures at: www.michigan.gov/drive. Follow MDOT at www.twitter.com/MichiganDOT or visit the "Michigan Department of Transportation" page on Facebook and become a fan.
