MDOT to begin work on US-12 bridge in New Buffalo on July 14

ESTIMATED STARTING DATE: Monday, July 14

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Late August

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be rehabilitating the US-12 bridge over the Galien River. Work includes milling, asphalt resurfacing, painting, substructure repair and approach work.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: For the duration of the project, one lane of alternating traffic will be open using temporary traffic signals.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: This $257,000 project will provide a smoother ride for motorists and extend the life of the bridge by approximately 10 years.
