About this Bridge:
The Holy Island Road Bridge is the only known surviving example of a pony truss bridge built in Michigan by the Wabash Bridge company of Wabash, Indiana. This bridge firm was established in 1896 and was one of many small bridge companies that emerged in the midwest in the 1890s.
