About this Bridge:
The Morseville Bridge carries Burt Road across the Flint River in Taymouth Township, Saginaw County. It was constructed in 1885 by the Smith Bridge Company of Toledo, Ohio, the fifth most prolific metal truss bridge company in terms of Michigan bridges. This is the oldest surviving example of the firm's work. The Morseville Bridge has unusual decorative end posts, a distinctive feature of only a few metal through trusses of the era.
