I-94 Widening Weekly Update

All the ramps for I-94/US-131 are open and should remain open until next spring.

Lane/Ramp Closures:

Short-term lane closures will be used to place the remaining sound wall panels on westbound I-94 between Westnedge Avenue and US-131. The merge/weave lanes will be modified to standard ramps during the placement of the panels.

What work has been taking place?
The new westbound I-94 is open to traffic.

Construction of the sound walls is progressing on the north side of I-94 and foundations, posts, and panels are all being constructed. Trees are being removed on the south side of I-94 for the new sound wall.

Work on the new bridges over north- and southbound US-131 south of I-94 has begun and the bridges will take shape in the upcoming weeks and throughout the winter.

The eastbound I-94 bridge over 12th Street has been removed and will be reconstructed throughout the winter.

Cleanup is in progress and should be completed soon for the winter.
