MDOT is studying three conceptual ramp alternatives, as well as a no-build alternative. The following descriptions feature links to aerial images showing the features involved in each alternative.
Conceptual Ramp Alternative #1 features Baldwin Street with four lanes from the Baldwin/Main intersection east, and three lanes beginning at River Avenue. The ramps would begin at the Grandville Waste Water Treatment Plant driveway. The eastbound entrance ramp to I-196 would merge from the right and include a weave/merge lane between the new ramp and the M-11 exit ramp.
Conceptual Ramp Alternative #2 features Baldwin Street with five lanes from Baldwin/Main intersection east, and four lanes beginning at River Avenue. The ramps would begin at the Grandville Waste Water Treatment Plant driveway. The eastbound entrance ramp to I-196 would merge from the right and include a weave/merge lane between the new ramp and the M-11 exit ramp.
Conceptual Ramp Alternative #3 features Baldwin Street with four lanes from Baldwin/Main intersection east, and three lanes beginning at River Avenue. The ramps would begin at the Grandville Waste Water Treatment Plant driveway. Unlike alternatives #1 and #2, the eastbound entrance ramp to I-196 would merge from the left.
