Overview

M-15 This Web site has been developed by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to provide project-related information for the M-15 Environmental Impact Statement in Oakland and Genesee counties in Michigan.

The segment under study runs approximately 20 miles, beginning at a junction with I-75 near the Village of Clarkston in Oakland County northward to the junction with I-69 near the City of Davison in Genesee County.

The goals of this study have been to identify and evaluate improvement options, select a preferred alternative after consideration of public input and resource agencies concurrence, and secure the appropriate environmental clearances for design.

A wide range of transportation improvement alternatives were analyzed within the recommended study corridor (See Map). The alternatives examined were: 1) the no action (no build) alternative; 2) improvements to the M-15 corridor (with and without changes to the local road system); 3) improvements to the existing local road infrastructure and no major changes to M-15; and 4) a Transportation Management System alternative.

Public Involvement has been an important part of this study. The public has had many opportunities to provide input, throughout the project's duration. Regular meetings have been held with local stakeholders and their input has been sought throughout the evaluation process, including during the analysis of social, economic, and environmental impacts associated with alternatives to be studied. Public meetings were advertised in local media sources and on this Web site.

Description of Study Area: The M-15 study area is bounded by I-69 on the north, I-75 on the south and a band which is one mile wide both east and west of M-15. The boundaries of the study area may be reasonably expanded from these minimums as a result of the public, and agency involvement process.

Description of the M-15 Planning Team: MDOT has selected a consultant team to assist with the M-15 Environmental Assessment Study. Members of this M-15 Planning Team include:
