Commissioner Maureen Miller Brosnan, (D) of Livonia, was appointed by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm effective March 8, 2005.
Ms. Brosnan currently is a homemaker managing the development of three children. She served on the Livonia City Council from March 1995 to December 2003. She previously was a self-employed public relations specialist and was a senior counselor with Publicom Inc. in Southfield and executive vice president of Publicom Association Management Services in Lansing.
Ms. Brosnan's professional activities include being named to the intergovernmental affairs transitional team for Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano in 2003 and to the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) as the Livonia City Council representative from 1995 to 2003. In 2003, she was named Woman of the Year by the American Association of University Women.
Ms. Brosnan holds a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University. Her commission will expire on December 21, 2010.
