James S. Scalici, Commissioner

State Transportation Commisioner James Scalici

James S. Scalici, Commissioner, (R), of Bingham Farms, was appointed by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm effective Jan. 12, 2006.

Mr. Scalici currently is president and founder of American Construction Engineers of Bingham Farms. In that role, he worked in partnership for a number of years with Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. to oversee the growth of future Little Caesar company stores. At that time, he was responsible for the coordination of new store locations and leases, the construction of new stores and the remodeling of existing stores.

Prior to these activities, he worked in a variety of management positions for D.O.C. Optics in Southfield, Saturn of Plymouth and S.& A. Auto Clinic in Allen Park.

Mr. Scalici serves as an Oakland County Reserve Deputy. He is a licensed boat captain with the U.S. Coast Guard and a licensed pilot.

Mr. Scalici studied business management and architecture at Northwood University, Wayne State Community College and Henry Ford Community College.

Mr. Scalici's commission will expire on December 21, 2008.
