Grand Region ITS-Fiber Cable

The ITS work in Grand Region has been split.  The first project will be to design and install approximately 20 miles of fiber optic cable and related communications infrastructure utilizing existing conduit along M-6 and I-96 in Kent and Ottawa Counties.

Grand Region ITS- DMS Installation

Project Info Meeting:    CANCELLED - July 9, 2009, 8:30 am, Grand Region Office- CANCELLED

Design, install, and integrate new freeway Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and related communications infrastructure at 9 locations throughout West Michigan.  The project includes both urban and rural locations, and will require the installation of wireless and/or cellular communication devices at each location where fiber optic cable is not available.  Where fiber optic cable is available, connection to the fiber optic backbone and installation of necessary communication devices will be required.

Superior Region, North Region & Mackinaw Bridge

This project will design and install 4 Dynamic Message Signs in the Upper Peninsula along I-75 and M-28. The project will replace 7 signs at the Mackinac Bridge approaches on I-75 and US-2. The project will deploy between 10-15 Environmental Sensor Stations in the northern Lower Peninsula.
