March 26, 2008 - - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is putting maps and detailed directions on the MDOT Web site to assist motorists heading to Detroit this weekend for two signature sporting events. The online maps provide directions for fans heading to Ford Field for the NCAA Midwest Regional basketball finals March 28 and 30, and opening day for the Detroit Tigers March 31.
"These Web pages will assist out-of-state fans traveling with their schools and Michigan residents alike," said State Transportation Director Kirk T. Steudle. "The links offer different traveling options to both venues in an effort to allow fans to arrive safely and on time."
Appropriately titled icons "Road to the Regionals" and "Getting to Comerica Park" can be found on the MDOT home page at www.michigan.gov/mdot .
