Agency: Transportation

Fast Facts:
- Dix-Toledo Road will be reconfigured into a five-lane roadway between Sibley Road and I-75.
- A single five-lane overpass will be constructed, replacing the current two bridges.
- One mile of I-75 will be reconstructed between King and Sibley roads.

February 17, 2012 -- Preliminary work on reconstructing the I-75/Dix-Toledo Road interchange in Brownstown Township will begin early next week as crews shift two-way traffic to the existing southbound bridge over the freeway. As a result, the Dix-Toledo Road overpass above I-75 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. This work kicks off an $18 million investment to modernize the I-75/Dix-Toledo Road interchange.

The traffic shift is necessary in order for crews to begin installing new drainage for the upcoming relocated Dix-Toledo Road. In addition, crews will close the southbound Dix-Toledo Road entrance ramp to southbound I-75, and the northbound Dix-Toledo Road entrance ramp to northbound I-75. Both ramps will remain closed until November and detours will be posted.

Upon completion this fall, the new I-75/Dix-Toledo Road interchange will have dedicated entrance and exit ramps on both sides of I-75, will realign Dix-Toledo Road between Sibley Road and I-75, and widen the Dix-Toledo Road/Sibley Road intersection.
