What it costs to repair potholes on Michigan's trunklines

Pothole repairs represent a significant portion of MDOT's annual maintenance budget. A combination of aging pavements and more severe winters generally result in an increase in pothole repair costs.

Fiscal Year 2009: $8.2 million

Fiscal Year 2010: $6.3 million

Fiscal Year 2011: $7.34 million

Fiscal Year 2012: $5.32 million
