The changes are a result of a 14-month study to help MDOT identify unnecessary signals. Additional improvements will be made in spring 2014. This project is weather-dependent.

The signals to be removed include:
- Pigeon: M-142 (Michigan Avenue) at M-142 (Main Street)
- Caseville: M-25 (Main Street) at Michigan Street
- Bad Axe: M-53/M-142 (Van Dyke Road/Port Crescent Street) at Watkins Place
- Port Austin: M-25 (Spring Street) at M-25/M-53 (Lake Street)

The signals to be removed and replaced with an overhead flashing light (red in one direction, yellow in the other):
- Elkton: M-142 (Whalen Street/Mill Street) at Main Street
- Bad Axe: M-53/M-142 (Port Crescent Street) at Irwin Street

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
Motorists may experience short, intermittent delays while signal work is being done.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT:
This project will improve operations and increase safety for motorists at the intersections.
