About this Bridge:
The Kawkawlin River Bridge crosses the Kawkawlin River on State Park Road two miles north of Bay City. This 60-foot, three-span steel girder rests on concrete abutments with two concrete cutwater piers. Flanking each side of the asphalt-covered concrete deck is a neoclassical concrete guardrail.

Highways and bridges were built with the priority toward tourism. Roads along the Great Lakes were built to provide a view at least 50% of the time.
