Julie Chapin, Chair
MSU Extenstion - 4-H Youth Development Dr. Julie Chapin is a program leader with Michigan State University Extension. She currently serves as chair of the Providers Council. Dr. Chapin brings more than 25 years of experience in the field of volunteerism. She is nationally recognized as a trainer in the areas of volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, and management. She provides leadership to Extension's statewide youth mentoring initiative and oversees the training and support of Extension staff who manage local youth mentoring programs as a part of Michigan 4-H Youth Development programs. |

Pam Barclay
Central Michigan University Volunteer Center
Pam Barclay is currently a graduate assistant in the Central Michigan University Volunteer Center. She is completing her master's degree in the Science in Administration Program at CMU with a concentration in Leadership. Pam currently serves as an advisor for two mentoring programs, Lunch Buddies and Adopt-a-Grandparent. She has volunteered her time in Detroit at Children's Hospital of Michigan, as well as been a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters and a camp counselor for Camp Oasis through the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. |

Tom Barnum
Big Brothers Big Sisters Mr. Barnum is a community developer for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) Kalamazoo. He identifies and nurtures natural partnerships for the organization. He joined the BBBS after a 34-year career teaching in Michigan public schools. As such, he brings an educator's perspective to the mentoring mission. He continues to serve as the coach of three varsity sports at Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo. |

Lisa Bottomley
MSU Extension Journey Program Lisa Bottomley is an extension educator and mentoring specialist with the MSU Extension Journey Program. She has been a mentoring professional for nearly ten years and is currently chair of the Providers Council Standards Committee. Ms. Bottomley oversees the Journey 4-H Youth Mentoring program in Ottawa County. In 2000, she founded the Ottawa County Mentoring Collaborative and currently serves as co-chair and VISTA supervisor for the collaborative. She also provides training and support to 4-H mentoring initiatives throughout the state. |

Janelle Burden
Arbor Circle Janelle Burden is the community services coordinator at Arbor Circle. She currently serves as the chairperson of the Kent County Mentoring Collaborative. In the past, Ms. Burden has served as a direct care counselor at St. John's Home, a case manager for Homeless Youth Services, and has been in volunteer management and mentoring program coordination for the past three years. |

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan Ms. Christian has served as executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan for the past four years. Prior to joining Big Brothers Big Sisters, she held senior marketing and public relations positions in health care and tourism organizations. Ms. Christian has served on several human service nonprofit boards in northern Michigan and is an active member of Rotary. |

Frank Cox
MSU Extension Muskegon County 4-H Programs Frank Cox is the 4-H Extension educator for Michigan State University Extension in Muskegon County. He supervises the Muskegon County Journey 4-H Youth Mentoring Program and the Muskegon County Mentoring Collaborative. He has been with MSU Extension for more than 5 years. Along with mentoring, his other job responsibilities include implementing and managing 4-H clubs, providing CHARACTER COUNTS! trainings and seminars, as well as working with afterschool and food and nutrition programs. He also coordinates Partnerships for Activism and Social Justice and college outreach programs to serve a variety of audiences. |

Peg Cramer
Kentwood Public Schools Peg Cramer has been an educator in the Kentwood Public Schools system since 1978. She has developed and coordinated a comprehensive school-based mentor program and presently sits on the district's steering committee for mentor programming. In addition to her teaching and coordination responsibilities for Kentwood, she facilitates staff development workshops and writes educational materials for the Kent Intermediate School District on mentoring and character education. She is also a certified trainer for ?Survival Skills for Healthy Families," a component of the nationally recognized Family Wellness program that mentors and supports families with materials on communication and parenting skills. |

Jerry Dash
Volunteer in Prevention, Inc. Jerry Dash is president and chief executive officer of Volunteers in Prevention, Probation and Prisons, Inc. (VIP), which has its own mentoring program. He has been with the organization since 1989 and was previously its executive director. Mr. Dash serves on the board of the American Probation & Parole Association and is chair of the Michigan Prison Fellowship Statewide Ministry Leadership Team. He was also a keynote speaker and workshop presenter on mentoring at conferences held in the United States, Germany, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Publications include articles on mentoring in journals of the National Association of Probation Executives, Consortium on Community Policing, American Probation and Parole Association, American Judges Association, and National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. |

• Trish Fiebing
Traverse City Area Public Schools Trish Fiebing is the volunteer coordinator for Traverse City Area Public Schools. In addition to coordinating the district's mentoring program, she also is an adjunct professor at Northwestern Michigan College. Her work in education included her position as owner and director of a Sylvan Learning Center. From there, she was executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Grand Traverse. For more than 10 years, she has been a board member for the Assisting Children's Educational Endowment Fund. She also serves on the advisory board for Community Learning Centers in four school districts. Ms. Fiebing is currently director of the Traverse City Opera House Association. |

Wade Forde
Andrews University Mr. Forde is the associate chaplain of Andrews University Campus Ministry Outreach. Mr. Forde started the position after moving to Michigan last year to pursue a Master in Divinity degree. Prior to his move, he was the associate/youth pastor of the 16th Street Church in San Bernardino, CA. While there, he won a Leadership Award from the County of San Bernardino for his work with youth and community awareness. Mr. Forde has worked in the area of youth mentoring and development for the last seven years. As a result of his work, he has traveled the continental United States and England, lecturing and preaching on the topics of at-risk youth, spiritual development, and creative programming for urban inner cities. |

• Dr. Virgil Gulker
KIDS HOPE USA Dr. Virgil Gulker is a 28-year veteran of volunteer services whose work focuses on engaging church volunteers in the lives of at-risk children and families. A social entrepreneur, he has created a number of national and international volunteer organizations, including LOVE INC, Love For Children, and most recently, KIDS HOPE USA. He is an author of articles and books on volunteerism, including Help Is Just Around the Corner and Helping You Is Helping Me. Dr. Gulker was the recipient of the 2001 Grand Valley State University Distinguished Alumnus Award. In 2001, Dr. Gulker met with President George W. Bush at the White House to help launch the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. |

Ginna Holmes
Alma Public Schools Ginna Holmes is currently the director of the Alma Community Center and the Explore After School Program. She began her professional career as a high school teacher and has worked with all ages of youth, from preschool to college. For both Alma College and the Alma Public Schools, she was a counselor assisting students with career and personal issues. Ms. Holmes has also served as the advisor for the Gratiot County Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council for 13 years and is currently the vice president of the Gratiot Women's Resource Center. |

Jayne Letts
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marquette County Jayne Letts has been the Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marquette and Alger County for 16 years. She is a member of the Mentor Task Force in Marquette. Ms. Letts chairs both the Advocacy Committee of the Providers Council, as well as the Marquette Family Coordinating Council, the collaborative body in Marquette. She also served as a judge for the 2006 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Angel Awards. |

Michelle Malamis
Jewish Family Service Michelle Malamis is the director of Mentor Connection, a program of Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit. She took on this role in October 2004. Previously, she had been the director of volunteer services for Jewish Family Service since October 1999. |

Kristina Marshall
Mentoring Solutions Kristina Marshall has led Mentoring Solutions as president and chief executive officer since 1998. Her introduction to the program was in 1994, when she became its first mentee. Ms. Marshall founded the Metro Detroit Mentor Collaboration in 2003 and today leads that organization. She is also a graduate of Leadership Macomb and of the Michigan Nonprofit Association's "Executive Leadership Fellows." She has received numerous awards including the 2006 International Athena Award from the Macomb Business Chamber for her dedication to the community and providing leadership development to women. She has personally mentored 42 teens and volunteers in Highland Park schools. |

Mary Schusterbauer
Oakland County Circuit Court, Family Division Mary Schusterbauer is currently the chief of Oakland County Youth Assistance, the prevention arm of the Oakland County Circuit Court ? Family Division. She has worked for the Court since 1986 where she has served in several communities as a caseworker and then supervisor. She was appointed to the chief's position in 2003. Earlier in her career, Mary worked at several agencies such as Vista Maria, Boysville, Barat Family Center, and the Orchards Children's Services. |

Erin Skelly-Smith
Jackson Nonprofit Support Center Erin Skelly-Smith is the executive director at the Jackson Nonprofit Support Center. She previously spent a year as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow at the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing. Originally from Maple Grove, Minnesota, she came to Michigan State University on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Family and Community Service. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Science in Administration from Central Michigan University. |

Reta Stanley
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint Reta Stanley is the president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint. She began her tenure at the organization as a service-learning program facilitator in a partnership with Flint Community Schools Youth Projects. She assisted the district in establishing school-based mentoring programs. She also served as the agency's assistant director and interim executive director. Ms. Stanley has served on a number of boards, including the Salvation Army, Junior League of Flint, and the Fairwinds Girl Scout Council. She is a founding member of the Woodrow Stanley Youth Foundation and currently serves on the Flint Community Schools Youth Projects advisory board. Her other memberships include the Youth Leadership Institute and the Genesee County Mentoring Collaborative. |

Dr. Carole Touchinski
Strategic Solutions Dr. Touchinski is president and chief executive officer of Strategic Solutions. As consultant to nonprofits, she also is a contributing author on topics that include service-learning and youth development. Prior to working at Strategic Solutions, Dr. Touchinski served as the director of research for Great Lakes Center for Youth Development, director for Marquette and Alger Counties Promise, director for the Alger-Marquette Human Services Coordinating Body, a violence prevention specialist, and a youth advocate. She currently serves as a trustee for the Michigan Nonprofit Association, as well as a member of the Marquette Community Foundation and Marquette Mountain Race Team. |
