Beginning in the Fall of 2013, Michigan Campus Compact, in partnership with Mentor Michigan and supported by Michigan College Access Network, will launch a new AmeriCorps program called the Mentoring to Access Corps (MAC). This program will replace the existing Mentor Michigan College Coaching Corps (MMCCC) and will enroll and place twenty five full-time AmeriCorps members in youth mentoring programs, colleges, and universities across Michigan. Using two mentoring approaches, MAC AmeriCorps members will increase college access for 1000+ high school youth in grades 9-12 from low-income families or with parents who did not attend college (i.e. first generation college-going students). For more information about the MAC program, view the informational sheet. A webinar recording that provides an overview of the program can also be viewed by clicking here.
** The MAC AmeriCorps program is pending the receipt of federal funds.
