HB 4950  - "Modifies casino employee license requirements"  

A House bill to amend the Initiated Law of 1996, entitled "Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act," by amending sections 2 and 8b (MCL 432.202 and 432.208b), section 2 as amended and section 8b as added by 1997 PA 69.  The purpose of the bill is to modify language in the "Act" concerning qualification of individuals that are seeking casino jobs requiring a license and undergo background check to work in a casino.

SB 68 - "Dead Beat Parent Bill "

A Senate bill to amend 1996 IL 1, entitled "Michigan gaming control and revenue act,"  by amending section 3 (MCL 432.203), as amended by 1997 PA 69, and by adding section 9e. The purpose of the bill is provide that all persons winning $1,000 dollars or more would be check by a casino licensee against state Friend of the Court records to determine if the wagerer has any child support arrearages.  If there is a support arrearage the casino would forward the amount owed to the appropriate judicial circuit court for application to the existing balance.  And any excess would be paid to the wagerer.
