A Board Resolution Acknowledging

The Contributions and Accomplishments of Board Member

Judge Michael Stacey And Commending Him

For Distinguished and Honorable Service to the

Michigan Gaming Control Board and the

People of the State of Michigan

WHEREAS, the Michigan Gaming Control Board was statutorily created and charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing the provisions of the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, as amended, Public Act 69 of 1997, relating to the proper licensing and regulation of casino gaming in the City of Detroit, as authorized by the Act; and,

WHEREAS, on December 20, 1996, Judge Michael Stacey was appointed to serve a two-year term as one of the first five appointed Board Members of the Michigan Gaming Control Board by the Honorable John M. Engler, Governor of the State of Michigan; and,

WHEREAS, Judge Stacey diligently and faithfully completed his initial term and was reappointed by Governor Engler for two additional terms.  Judge Stacey's last four-year term expired on December 31, 2006; and,

WHEREAS, Judge Stacey served the Board and the People of the State of Michigan with honor, decisive leadership and distinction during his tenure as a member of the Board; and,

WHEREAS, Judge Stacey's dedication, integrity, fairness, astute leadership, keen insight and prudent judgment as an original member of the Michigan Gaming Control Board are well-recognized and respected by his colleagues, members of the Board, and by the People of our State; NOW THEREFORE,

IT IS RESOLVED that the Michigan Gaming Control Board HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND COMMENDS Judge Michael Stacey for his diligent public service and many valuable contributions and accomplishments as a member of the Board from December 1996 through December 2006, and extends to Judge Stacey our very best wishes for continued happiness, success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
