RESOLUTION NO. 2007-02

A Board Resolution Acknowledging
the Contributions and Accomplishments of
Executive Assistant Patty James and Commending Her
For Distinguished and Honorable Service to the
Michigan Gaming Control Board and the
People of the State of Michigan

WHEREAS, the Michigan Gaming Control Board was statutorily created and charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing the provisions of the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, as amended, Public Act 69 of 1997, relating to the proper licensing and regulation of casino gaming in the City of Detroit, as authorized by the Act; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. James was hired in 1997 by Executive Director Nelson Westrin to serve the Michigan Gaming Control Board as its first Executive Assistant and Secretary of the Michigan Gaming Control Board; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. James established the executive office in East Lansing and excelled as the Michigan Gaming Control Board's first Secretary at the monthly meetings in Detroit; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. James demonstrated high standards of professional work and conduct, effectively interacting with peers, superiors and the general public; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. James served the Board and the People of the State of Michigan with honor and distinction; and,

WHEREAS, the Board commends Ms. James for her attention to detail, integrity, and initiative.  Her dedication was evident in the fact that she did not miss a regularly scheduled Board meeting in her ten years of service.   Ms. James' exceptional cooperative effort with others, including other governmental agencies and the attorneys representing the Board, is well recognized and appreciated by her superiors, colleagues, the members of the Board and by the People of our State; NOW THEREFORE,

IT IS RESOLVED that the Michigan Gaming Control Board HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND COMMENDS 

Patty S. James for her diligent public service and many valuable contributions and accomplishments as an employee from 1997 through July 2007, and extends to Patty our very best wishes for continued happiness, success and fulfillment in all her future endeavors.
