THE MICHIGAN GAMING CONTROL BOARD

     RESOLUTION NO. 2003-02         

A Board Resolution To Acknowledge The Contributions and Accomplishments Of Former Board Member Larry Garberding And Commend Him For His Service To The Michigan Gaming Control Board And The People Of The State Of Michigan.

LET IT BE KNOWN, That the Michigan Gaming Control Board has been entrusted to fulfill the provisions of the Michigan Gaming Control & Revenue Act (Public Act 69 of 1997); 

WHEREAS, Larry Garberding established himself as the executive vice president of both Detroit Edison and DTE Energy where he worked since 1990; and,

WHEREAS, Larry Garberding was appointed by the Honorable John Engler, Governor of the state of Michigan, in February 2002 to serve the people of Michigan by helping shape the future of the state's casino gaming industry through his work on the Michigan Gaming Control Board; and,

WHEREAS, Larry Garberding has served the People of the State of Michigan with distinction and made many valuable contributions to the Board during his membership on the Board; and,

WHEREAS, Larry Garberding's dedication, commitment, integrity and uncommon wisdom and expertise as a Board member are well recognized and appreciated by his Board colleagues and by the People of the State of Michigan; and,

WHEREAS, Larry Garberding is no longer able to continue his service on the Board due to an unforeseen change in personal commitments and has, therefore, resigned from the Board; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Garberding continues to serve his community through ongoing civic activities,

NOW THEREFORE,

IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Michigan Gaming Control Board commends Mr. Garberding for his diligent service; and,

IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Michigan Gaming Control Board HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND COMMENDS Larry Garberding for his diligent public service on the Board, and extends to him our very best wishes of happiness, success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
