THE MICHIGAN GAMING CONTROL BOARD

RESOLUTION NO. 2004-01

A Board Resolution To Acknowledge The Contributions and Accomplishments Of Former Board Member Ritchie T. Davis, And Commend Him For His Service To The Michigan Gaming Control Board And The People Of The State Of Michigan
        

WHEREAS, The Michigan Gaming Control Board has been statutorily charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing the provisions of the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, as amended, Public Act No. 69 of 1997, relating to the proper licensing and regulation of casino gaming in the State of Michigan; and,

WHEREAS, Rich established himself as the director of the Michigan State Police, attaining the rank of Colonel before his retirement in 1991 and the executive director of the Michigan Trucking Association from 1991 until his retirement in January 1999; and, 

WHEREAS, Rich was duly appointed to serve a three-year term as a charter member of the first ever appointed Michigan Gaming Control Board by the Honorable John M. Engler, Governor of the State of Michigan, in December 1996, with the advice and consent of the Michigan Senate; and,

WHEREAS, Rich completed his three-year term as a member of the Michigan Gaming Control Board and was, thereafter, reappointed by Governor John M. Engler in December 1999 to serve a four-year term as a member of the Board expiring December 31, 2003, with the advice and consent of the Michigan Senate; and,

WHEREAS, Rich has served the People of the State of Michigan with distinction and made many valuable contributions to the Board during his membership on the Board; and,

WHEREAS, Rich Davis' dedication, commitment, integrity and uncommon wisdom and expertise as a Board member are well recognized and appreciated by his Board colleagues and by the People of the State of Michigan; NOW THEREFORE,

IT IS RESOLVED that the Michigan Gaming Control Board HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND COMMENDS Rich Davis for his diligent public service and many valuable contributions and accomplishments as a member of the Board, and extends to him our very best wishes for happiness, success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
