PUBLIC INVESTIGATIVE HEARING FOR GREEKTOWN CASINO, LLC

PUBLIC INVESTIGATIVE HEARING FOR GREEKTOWN CASINO, LLC

The Michigan Gaming Control Board will continue its required Public Investigative Hearing for Greektown Casino, LLC, on Tuesday, September 5, 2000. The hearing will begin at 9:00 AM at the MGCB Detroit office, 7430 Second Avenue, Suite 300, Detroit, Michigan.

Greektown Casino, LLC, is an applicant for one of three authorized casino licenses in Detroit. The purpose of this portion of the Public Investigative Hearing is for Board members to consider and vote on the eligibility, suitability and qualifications of Greektown Casino, LLC, for licensure. If Greektown Casino, LLC, is found by the Board to be eligible, suitable and qualified for licensure, the Board may not vote to issue a casino license to Greektown Casino, LLC, until after Greektown Casino, LLC, provides the Board with written notice that it is ready to open to the public and conduct its proposed casino gaming operations in compliance with state law, and the Board's Executive Director completes an inspection of the proposed casino facilities and operations. After the required notice is received and the inspection is completed, the Board will once again reconvene the Public Investigative Hearing to consider the Executive Director's inspection report and formally vote on whether to issue a casino license to Greektown Casino, LLC.

Opportunity for public testimony and comment regarding the eligibility, suitability and qualification of Greektown Casino, LLC, for licensure under state law was previously provided at prior public sessions of the Public Investigative Hearing. Accordingly, no further opportunity for public testimony or comment on those issues will be provided during the hearing on September 5, 2000. However, if the Board determines by its vote on September 5, that Greektown Casino, LLC, is eligible, suitable and qualified for licensure, then reasonable opportunity will thereafter be provided for further public testimony and comment on the issue of whether the Board should vote to issue a casino license to Greektown Casino, LLC, when the Public Investigative Hearing is later reconvened to decide that issue.

The public investigative hearing room is barrier-free and accessible to persons with special needs. Persons needing special accommodations or assistance to the attend the Public Investigative Hearing are asked to contact Mr. Robert Nelson at 517/324-8219.

Signed,
Mr. Nelson Westrin
