 GAMING LAB
The Michigan Gaming Control Board Gaming Lab is the focal point for all technical issues relating to electronic gaming and associated gaming equipment & systems.
The MGCB Gaming Lab provides technical direction, approvals and procedures as needed to other MGCB divisions, casino and gaming licensees to ensure the integrity of live gaming and electronic gaming activity and devices within the jurisdiction.
The MGCB Gaming Lab also reviews the casino licensee's internal control to further the confidence in the integrity of gaming in this jurisdiction.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The MGCB Gaming Lab is charged with the review of all electronic gaming devices, programs and firmware utilized in those devices. They also review all gaming accounting systems that record gaming activity used in determining gaming revenues. The Department establishes the procedures and tracking program for field verification of gaming software as well as jackpot verification. The Lab creates procedural documentation and trains agents on machine testing and jackpot verification procedures. The Lab is also equipped to evaluate electronic devices involved in alleged cheating incidents and gaming devices involved in player disputes.
Since its inception, the MGCB Gaming Lab has maintained an extensive database which serves as a basis for all field inspections conducted by the Enforcement Section. This information is used to verify gaming devices in the field.
The Lab maintains an open relationship with other gaming jurisdictions such as Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Ontario and more.
