A Board Resolution Requesting And Urging The State Legislature To Promptly Enact Necessary Additional Casino Legislation To Supplement The Michigan Gaming Control And Revenue Act.
WHEREAS, the Michigan Gaming Control Board ("the Board") has the power and duty under Section 4(b) of the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act ("the Act") to implement, enforce and supervise administration of the Act; and,

IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
That the Chairperson of the Board shall prepare and send a letter for, and on behalf of, the Board to the Governor and the Legislature requesting and urging that the legislature promptly enact additional casino legislation that is needed to supplement the current Act, in order to provide sufficiently stringent licensing standards, and give the Board adequate funding, licensing discretion and regulatory power to properly license and regulate casino gaming in Michigan, so as to ensure honest, well-run and financially successful casino operations; minimize the social harm and maximize the economic benefit that result from such operations; and otherwise protect the public interest.
