RESOLUTION NO. 2008-01


A Board Resolution Acknowledging The Contributions and
A
ccomplishments of Assistant Attorney General in Charge
John "Jack" Cahill of the Michigan Office of the Attorney General,
Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division, And Commending

Him For Distinguished and Honorable Service to the
Michigan Gaming Control Board and
the People of the State of Michigan

 

 

WHEREAS, the Michigan Gaming Control Board was statutorily created and charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing the provisions of the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, as amended, Public Act 69 of 1997, relating to the proper licensing and regulation of casino gaming in the City of Detroit, as authorized by the Act; and,

WHEREAS, Jack Cahill was assigned in 1997 by the Michigan Office of the Attorney General to serve the Michigan Gaming Control Board as an Assistant Attorney General in the Casino Control Section and being promoted to the Assistant Attorney General in Charge of the Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division in 2004; and,

WHEREAS, It is with great respect for his professional and personal commitment to our state and its legal structure that we honor and thank Jack Cahill for his service to the State of Michigan. Mr. Cahill has played a crucial role in shaping the quality of Michigan's casino gaming regulation and licensing. His devotion to duty ensured that the Detroit casino gaming activities and operations were conducted in a lawful manner thereby protecting the best interests of the people of the State of M ichigan; and,

WHEREAS, Jack Cahill's accomplishments as the Board's counsel include the implementation of the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act and the promulgation of the Board's Administrative Rules, demonstrating his tireless personal sense of duty; and,

WHEREAS, Jack Cahill served the Board and the People of the State of Michigan with honor and distinction during his tenure as the Chief of the Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division; and,

WHEREAS, Jack Cahill's dedication, integrity, fairness, astute leadership, keen insight and prudent judgment as the Board's counsel are well-recognized and appreciated by his staff, colleagues, the members of the Board and by the people of our State; NOW THEREFORE,


IT IS RESOLVED that the Michigan Gaming Control Board HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND COMMENDS Jack Cahill for his diligent public service and many valuable contributions and accomplishments from 1997 through June of 2008, and extends to him our very best wishes for continued happiness, success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
