RESOLUTION NO. 2010-1
A Board Resolution Acknowledging

The Contributions and Accomplishments of Board Member
Damian S. Kassab

And Commending Him
For Distinguished and Honorable Service to the
Michigan Gaming Control Board and the
People of the State of Michigan

WHEREAS, the Michigan Gaming Control Board was statutorily created and charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing the provisions of the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, as amended, Public Act 69 of 1997, relating to the proper licensing and regulation of casino gaming in the City of Detroit, as authorized by the Act; and,

WHEREAS, Damian Kassab diligently and faithfully completed his original appointment as Chairman serving out the remainder of Larry Garberding's term, which expired on December 31, 2006.   Damian was reappointed in 2006 and again in December 2008, by Governor Jennifer Granholm to a term that expires on December 31, 2012; and,

WHEREAS, Damian Kassab served the Board and the People of the State of Michigan with honor, decisive leadership and distinction during his tenure as a member of the Board; and,

WHEREAS, Damian Kassab's dedication, integrity, fairness, astute leadership, keen insight and prudent judgment as a member of the Michigan Gaming Control Board are well-recognized and respected by his colleagues, members of the Board, and by the People of our State; NOW THEREFORE,

IT IS RESOLVED that the Michigan Gaming Control Board HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND COMMENDS Damian Kassab for his diligent public service and many valuable contributions and accomplishments as the chairman of the Board from August 2003 through December 2009, and extends to Damian Kassab our very best wishes for continued happiness, success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
