Across the Nation terrorist threats continue to be received in the mail. This information is provided by Michigan's Department of Management and Budget, and it advises state employees how to handle suspicious mail and/or packages.

• National Guidelines for Handling Suspicious Packages
Several letters containing anthrax were sent through the mail in several areas of the United States. As a result, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention developed these guidelines for recognizing and handling suspicious packages.

• What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Letter or Package
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has developed this one-page guide for dealing with suspicious packages or envelopes, and it identifies whom you should notify.
