Each year the Michigan Committee for Severe Weather Awareness, emergency management officials, and the news media work together to educate the public on which precautions should be taken to save lives and protect property and families during severe weather. Governor Granholm has declared the week of March 29 as Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan.
